On this walking tour through old Rome you will discover some of the most famous sites and monuments of the Eternal City.
We will begin our walk at the (Jesuit) church of the Gesù. Its Baroque design was revolutionary and had enormous influence all across Europe. Continuing down the narrow streets our tour will bring us to the Piazza Colonna, across from the Montecitorio Palace, seat of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies. But before getting there we will have visited the famous Pantheon as well as a number of squares and churches, both Baroque and Rococo, including the Piazza di Sant’Ignazio and Santa Maria sopra Minerva – the lovely Gothic church (a rarity in Rome) where Galileo was judged for having declared that the earth turned around the sun.
