
Relive the harsh realities of prison life in the 19th Century. Built in the 1820s, on the site of the Royal Burgh’s medieval castle, displays in the cellblocks recreate the lives of prisoners and staff, while the Jailer’s House explores the history of the town.
Facilities include audio tour, foreign language guide and picnic area. Ground floor-based audio-visual display. Tour groups welcome.
